Reviews Overview

Diners rave about the homemade tomato chili jam served with the salt and chili prawns, which adds a delightful kick. The cocktail selection is another standout feature, with drinks crafted to perfection that pair well with the food. The meat feast pizza often garners praise for its fresh toppings, providing a fulfilling experience that keeps people coming back. Many visitors also appreciate the generous portion sizes, particularly the Sunday roast which includes options that spoil diners for choice. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with breathtaking views of Cullercoats Bay, enhances the overall dining experience, creating a setting that is perfect for both relaxation and celebration.

Most Disliked

Though most reviews are positive, some diners express disappointment over wait times during busy hours, particularly for the upstairs seating with the best views. Occasionally, specific dishes may be sold out, which can be frustrating for guests who come with a particular craving. Additionally, while the atmosphere is mostly praised, some guests felt that it could become a bit loud, especially during peak meal times, potentially detracting from conversation. Lastly, as with many popular spots, the price point can be a consideration for those on a tighter budget, though most agree the value matches the quality.

We have lived in Cullercoats for years and have no idea how we managed to miss coming to High Tide until this evening. The food was simply delicious! Every dish has distinct and complex flavours. We had a variety of the small plates. My husband wanted the chorizo with honey which I said sounded like something we could cook at home. This turned out to be my favourite dish! Chorizo done over an open coal - just spectacular. The homemade tomato chilli jam under the salt and chili prawns was almost as good as the prawns itself. My husband's favourite was the gochujang chicken. Apparently (if I remember correctly) the Chef's partner is Korean and they make their own sauce. This, and the slow cooked beef curry had sufficient spice (even for us who lived in Asia for years). There was good wine, beer, and cocktails. The menu is designed to cater very well for many tastes, so had our young daughter been with us she could have chosen from the array of delicious looking pizza and pasta dishes. We thought the whole meal was great value and will definitely be back. You can go in just for drinks upstairs and it has an amazing view across Cullercoats Bay towards Tynemouth. Great work Jo and Nathan!

Popped in after a visit to the caves with my daughter, I had not visited this resteraunt before. We managed to get a seat upstairs, the decor is matching the vibe of the beach. You get an amazing view of the ocean from upstairs, we ordered the meatballs and margarita pizza. We did not leave a spot of food, absolutely beautiful fresh food. Service was brilliant and quick, the waitress was very friendly. I tipped her £5.00 and told them I would definitely be recommending on my socials. I very rarely give 5 stars, but I couldn't fault a single thing from this place. Highly recommended, get yourselves into this resteraunt.

We’ve been to High Tide a few times but have never been for Sunday Dinner despite receiving several recommendations. It did not disappoint. The portion sizes are very generous & the mixed meat option just spoils you - honestly couldn’t pick which meat was the best. Strong contender as one of my favourite Sunday Dinners in the area.
